Reflect, explore, discover.

The Values Project is a thought-provoking, guided discussion designed to help organisations, churches, and groups talk and learn about their identity and values as Australian Baptists.

The material is designed to strengthen a sense of identity, encourage connectedness and community across our movement, and informs decision-making in leadership.

In a nutshell.

Over four topic-based sessions (Jesus-Centred, Community, Mission, Freedom), participants reflect on the values that underpin the historical and cultural backbone of our movement. Together, you’ll explore how these values impact attitudes, practices, and decisions in our unique contexts.

FAQs

  • Who can act as a Facilitator?

Anyone! There’s no training or prerequisites required. A Facilitator could be a small group leader, Pastor, ministry leader, school teacher — the list goes on.

  • Can we do all four sessions in one go?

While most people take it one session at a time, all four can definitely be covered in one sitting. The videos only go for five minutes and the subsequent discussion can go however long you want it to go for (we suggest a minimum of 30 minutes). To address all four episodes in one sitting, allow at least two hours. If time is limited, divide into four groups and have each group explore one episode each, and then report back to the whole group.
