Baptist World Aid Australia is the overseas aid and development arm of the Baptist Union of Australia. Formed in 1959 to help manage funds and goods for distribution among refugees, today Baptist World Aid Australia supports sponsorship and community development projects in over 14 countries across Africa and Asia. Baptist World Aid Australia also supports Micah Challenge and the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY campaign.

Baptist World Aid Australia is primarily supported by churches and individual Christians, and receives some funding from the Australian Government. It is a registered charity and has Deductible Gift Recipient status with the Australian Tax Office. Approximately 80 cents in every dollar donated is spent on aid and development projects overseas.
Baptist World Aid Australia is accountable to the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), is a compliant signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, and is fully accredited with AusAID.
