    BIO

My husband and I have four boys, a daughter-in-law and 1 gorgeous granddaughter.   We have been Pastoring in Baptist churches in Victoria for 16 years leading churches through transition and building links with community through friendship evangelism.  Over 26 years I have been involved in women’s ministry with a heart for intergenerational ministry.  I have a passion to help women deepen their relationship with Christ and to mentor, equip, support and release them into their God appointed role as mothers, workers, leaders, wives and ministers.  My favourite past-times are holidaying with family, movies, writing, swimming, walks along the beach and enjoying a Cappuccino and laugh with my girlfriends.

    BIO

Born in South Africa I gave my life to the Lord at the age of 12 and participated in youth ministry at school and at church.  I got married and we were later baptized and we joined the Praise and Worship team and a regular cell group. I was part of a women’s inter-denominational intercessory prayer group and I also did various Christian counseling workshops and trained as a volunteer at a Christian Crisis Pregnancy Clinic where I supported 2 young girls.

We moved to Perth in 1999. I have always had a strong desire to be an encourager of hearts and for a period of 4yrs I held a weekly women’s bible study/support group in our home. I work fulltime in the Domestic Violence program at Relationships Australia. Previously I worked in banking, various welfare organizations and did basic bookkeeping for a pathologist.
I’m trusting God to equip me for His purposes…wherever He wants me to serve Him with joy and thankfulness.

  • Jan Dobson
    TASMANIAN STATE LEADER

    Web:    Tasmanian Baptist Women events

    BIO

I have been happily married to John for 44 years. We have three sons and three grandsons (at present). I enjoy being a grandma. Prior to my retirement two years ago I was an early childhood teacher. There were times that I thought about quitting but circumstances always led me to believe that I was where God wanted me to be and doing what He wanted.

Since my marriage I have been involved in the women's activities in our church in some way or other. For the last few I have been involved at the state level. This was something I never ever thought of but I was prompted several times by different people and realized that God was asking me to step out of my comfort zone.  When our boys were young I taught Sunday school was S.S. superintendent for a time and with John was responsible for organizing and running the youth group.

I have always been interested in people and their problems and have undertaken elementary counselor training.  At present in my church I am involved with pastoral care and visitation, particularly of women.
